SMS Consent & Messaging Policy
LeanFoundry (a brand of ARCM LLC) operates SMS messaging for small-business clients: customer-facing assistant lines and internal operations agents. Messaging is opt-in and consumer-initiated, you text the business's published number first. This page describes how consent is collected and how to opt out at any time.
Opting in to text messages is optional. It is not required to purchase any product, use any service, become a customer, or take part in any project, and it is not bundled into any other agreement, contract, or employment. You can decline and still use everything else we offer, and declining does not affect your role, your service, or any other relationship.
Consent to receive text messages is collected on its own, as a separate yes or no choice, and you can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP. See also our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.
How you opt in
Opt-in is consumer-initiated: you start the conversation. We never send a message to a number that has not opted in first.
- Text the number first (primary). You opt in by sending a text to the business's published number, to ask a question, to book, or in response to an in-person or on-site invitation to "text us." Your inbound text is your consent to receive replies and related messages on that number.
- In person, as a separate choice. A business may also ask, in person, whether you agree to receive its text messages, presented on its own as a distinct yes or no question. This consent is never bundled into a purchase, a booking, employment, a contract, or any other agreement, and declining it does not affect any service or relationship.
Either way, consent to receive text messages is its own standalone, optional choice, and you can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP.
What to expect after you opt in
Once you have opted in, you may receive two kinds of messages on that number, and nothing else:
- Two-way replies and assistance. You text the number with a question, about a service, a booking, your schedule, or your project, and the assistant replies, sometimes with a link.
- Photo-anchored threads (operations agents). For internal operations agents, an authorized team member can send you a photo with a question; you receive it as an MMS and can reply by text or in the app.
No marketing, no promotional blasts, no third-party advertising. We do not purchase, rent, or scrape phone numbers, and we never message the general public or any number that has not opted in. Message volume is typically a few per day.
Who we message
We only message people who opted in themselves, by texting the number, or who gave separate, explicit consent in person. An inbound text from an unrecognized number receives only a brief "this number is not registered" reply and nothing further. Consent is never inferred from a purchase, a booking, a contract, employment, or any other relationship.
Opt out and help keywords
Standard SMS keywords are honored on every tenant number. A recipient can stop messages at any time by replying with one of the following:
After a STOP message, the carrier blocks further outbound traffic to the recipient and the system marks that number as opted out. Reply START to resume messaging.
Reply HELP at any time to receive a short description of the service and a contact email.
Frequency, cost, and carriers
- Message frequency varies by activity. A typical recipient receives a small number of messages per day.
- Standard message and data rates from the recipient's mobile carrier may apply. LeanFoundry does not charge the recipient for SMS or MMS.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy and data handling
Phone numbers and message content are stored only on the operator's tenant infrastructure (a private Azure subscription) and are used only for the operational purposes described above. Phone numbers are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing.
Inbound MMS images are copied to the tenant's private file area so they remain accessible to the operations agent after the carrier expires the original media URL. Images and message logs are retained for the operational lifetime of the tenant and can be deleted on request from the business owner.
